Issue NULL - a new publishing model for Delver's Square
Written by Pitchwife

Hi,

So, as you may have read on Okay - Your Turn, I (Pitchwife) am quasi back from the dead and am back as the titular head of Delver's Square (stop sniggering, it's a real word). I thank Valmiras for attempting to step into the breach while I was in the midst of a severe nutty. In the end, my nutty outfought his desire to help, making his job impossible. Still, he fineagled one update out of me, for which I'm thankful.

Anyway, here's the plan. Delver's Square is no longer going to publish "issues" on any sort of schedule. I'm going to publish all of the as-yet-unpubished articles that look like they're ready right now, and then I'll happily publish anything else that comes my way related to Ptolus, but I'll do it as soon as I get it, and then monthly or so I'll post a recap announcement in Ptolus Miscellanous at Okay - Your Turn. I think this is the easier, saner way to do things, and that's about what I'm comfortable promising.

I'm still a passionate advocate of Ptolus. In fact, I'm about to start running a spanking new Ptolus campaign tomorrow night. It's a bunch with no knowledge of the setting, and we're not even doing anything funky with the rules (except for some Book of Experimental Might oddness tossed in). 4th Edition, Pathfinder, True20... they all look neat, but a rules-as-written campaign set in a really fantastic locale is still enough to excite a table full of 30-something grognards. I've taped together and laminated a map of the Ghostly Minstrel, and Phon Quartermain is just about to walk through the door, looking for help. It's not a monumental achievement, and neither is this casual return to Delver's Square, but I'm happy about them both. See you in the Square, I hope.

So, as I said, clearing out the old, but still valuable contributions:

Original Delver's Square admin Eldric IV has a great selection of articles here fleshing out some chaotic elements within the city. He's got another one here for you now - Servants of Chaos: Radok the Toad.

Uber-contributor (in quality if not quantity) Leland J. Tankersley saw a potential difficulty in Queen of Lies and came up with simple rules for unit combat in a 3.5 game. See the results here.

Arnon Ram's campaign of many moons ago came to and end, but through the magic of my laziness it is only now coming to a conclusion here in internetworld. Read through to the end of Melelyn's journal here, here, and here. You can also read the back issues here.

Issue #43: No, You Can't Have That Many McNuggets
Written by Pitchwife
Hey there! Remember us? We’re delverssquare.com and we’re back! Back with a vengeance…and this time, its personal!

Yeah, it’s been a while and there have been some changes. For one, I will be taking over some of these responsibilities for Guildmaster Delver Pitchwife while he puts his considerable skills to work to handle the technical side of the site. [Web gremlin adds: I'll consider them alright...]

You may notice things look a little different! We’ve had an upgrade and a bit of a face lift since we saw you last. We have been working very hard to make sure all our content is available after this conversion, but, hey, we’re only human (well, Pitch is actually an assarai), so if you find something missing, a link that doesn’t work, etc., please let us know and we’ll be all over it like a Pale Dog on at a nail polish sale!

Some changes you may want to note: The process for submissions has changed, so please check out the new Submissions guide!

The Gallery has also changed and we are still working on pulling stuff over. Stay tuned!

What am I forgetting… oh, yeah, Content!

First, Leland J. Tankersley helps your casters maintain their combat effectiveness with his variant Arcane Feats.

Our longest running sequential article series, Arnon Ram provides us with another entry in Melelyn’s Journal. This episode:  Session 20 House of Death!

I can’t say enough good stuff about Eric of Ptolus’ maps.  I personally use the hell out of them! Seriously, make sure you’ve got ink in your printer, ‘cause you’re gonna need it!

Lastly, some Rat Bastard wrote up another Rat Bastards entry. “One Eye” is a ratbrute barbarian, for when a normal 10-foot bipedal rat just isn’t enough!

On a final note, we are going be shooting for monthly updates for now. We would like to have more frequent updates, but to do so, WE NEED CONTENT! So if you have stuff to send in, do it! Do it now!

Ptoodles,

Valmiras

Issue #42: Too Easy
Written by Pitchwife

Please note that the site is being updated/upgraded in advance of a shiny new reboot under new-ish management. Expect an announcement shortly. ~Pitch, 11.13.08

Y'all,

Welcome to the latest edition of Delver's Square. A bit of housekeeping - in order to add some sorely-missing ... what's the word... oh, let's settle on discipline... to add some much needed discipline to this place, uber-mensch Valmiras has offered to lend a helping hand. Or two, I guess, unless he types strangely.

EDITOR'S NOTE: I mistakenly published an early draft of John Fetridge's work; the correct files, encompassing two versions of two files that are downloadable, are now available. I apologize for the error - who wants their first draft of anything made public? Sorry, John.

It is thanks to his prodding, and to our contributors naturalment*, that I give you the latest edition of Ye Olde Square. This time:
