Description: While not as clever as many other albino ratlords, Hax has a force of personality and talent for magic which have allowed him to survive longer than many of his brethren. Other ratmen are drawn to him and serve him with unexpected loyalty. Hax, however, does not reciprocate this fidelity and serves only himself. He often uses his magic to go undetected amidst the surface dwellers of Ptolus.

Tactics: Hax has his shield spell active almost around the clock, and if he has time to prepare for a battle, he will have expeditious retreat cast as well.

He prefers to stay at a safe distance from melee combat, haranguing enemies with his pistol and magic missiles.

If acting independently, he likes to use disguise self to assume a benign form only to attack when his enemy’s back is turned – usually with his pistol at a distance to make escape easier but close enough for his sneak attack to work.

Campaign Uses: Hax can be used to add some spellpower to any existing ratman encounter. He can serve as a boss monster (for lower level parties) or as an advisor to a more powerful leader. He is also well-suited to act as a spy or assassin.
