Eric Mcloins' Ptolus Campaign as it was written down in Melelyn's Journal, a bard.

Earthday, 23rd of Blessing, 721IA

Linechs’ house was in a cul-de-sac in the Rivergate District. Upon knocking on the door we were called in, a cheerful Halfling juggling a small knife was seated on a sofa with a drugged half-elf besides him. “Yeah, what can I do ya for?”

“I’m guessing that you’re not Linech,” I started.

“Smart aren’t you?”

“Yeah, not just pretty. We heard he's looking for people,” I said and he nodded. “Well we’re here.”

“Cool. Follow me.” Said the Halfling and he went up the stair to the second floor.

The second floor was an office space and while it was nice enough, it had one very odd piece of furniture: a life like statue of a golden man. Very out of place. The office was populated by two people: a rather strangely handsome half-orc smoking a stinky cigar and a big and very ugly woman. “We came about the job,” we said.

“Good,” said Linech, “straight and to the point. I like it.” His ship the Arrowhead was bound for Ptolus from the north with the coffin of his recently deceased daughter, but just as it was approaching the docks it was set afire and sank. We were all appalled by the atrocious act while not for a moment believing any of it. Also, he wasn’t really trying to act up his grieve over the loss of his daughter or her coffin. All we have to do is retrieve the coffin (which did not burn as it is made of glass). Linech would provide us with ‘Water Breathing’ potions and will send Seanus (he pointed at the Halfling at the mention of the name) with us. Tuur and Eric were very suspicious about the potions and wished to take it with them to check it out, but Linech refused “you’ll get it the moment before you go into the water”. We said we’ll do it on the next day, as we had some other business to take care of first.

Eric and Tuur went to buy some lighter armor and better fitting weapons for the water business tomorrow (and probably check about water breathing potions in a more credible store), while Sebastian and Aretha also had some things of their own to do. It was agreed that Menon and I would go the report to the Castle.

Fearing that we might be followed by Linech’s people we changed clothes and our appearance as much as possible in our house and went to Castle Shard, always mindful of people who might be watching us (and not in the good way). Kadmus opened the door again and invited us in leading us to Zavere who was in the middle of a meal. He invited us to eat and sent Kadmus with our orders. We told him all we saw at Linech and what he asked us to do. He informed us that the Half-elf  is Biesta, Toridans’ and Linechs’ sister; was a bit surprised at the mention of the death of Linechs’ daughter (Zavere said that he knew he had a daughter), but was most surprised by our description of the golden statue. Immediately he called Rill and she came, floating on air this time, and listened attentively as we described to her the golden statue once more. “It is a friend of ours,” they said, “that has gone missing about two years ago. If you could bring him to us, we will pay you 1000 gold Imperials. And as for the job Linech asked of you, we are intrigued. If you are willing to go ahead with it and investigate the matter we will give you each another 100 Imperials.” He said that and placed six pouched of coins in front of us. We promised to bring it before the party and said that we already were planning to continue with Linech to see where things are going. And we did (and even told them to whole truth).

The food was delicious by the way.
